Welcome to the Genealogy of the Caswell Family web site. Please feel free to browse around, and E-mail me if you have any questions concerning my family tree. My name is Wayne Caswell. For many years I was very curious about my family ancestors and heard that my great aunt Fern Caswell Lincoln had a collection of pictures and family data. Shortly before she passed away, I made a visit to her home in Traverse City, Michigan and looked through an old cedar chest of paraphernalia. She sent me a copy of the hand written family tree and willed me the old family Bible containing papers of births and deaths. The Bible, dated 1837, belonged to Gilbert Caswell and Polly Eggleston who were both born at the turn of the 19th century. Using a computer to research and record discovered treasures has encouraged me to continue the research on my ancestors. I have enjoyed meeting distant relatives and sharing much information with friends on the World Wide Web.
My ancestors on my great grandmother's side came over to America on "The Good Ship Hopewell" in 1635. They came from England, Duffield Parish, Darby County and settled in Stratford America. Following is a list of names in my family tree:

Special thanks:
To my first cousin Jo Ellen Lathwell for providing pictures of our early ancestors.
To my distant cousin Eva Bachman Burns for sharing family information with the author, and for her great desire for family research.
To William Tompkins for providing many old pictures and a book of poems written by William Henry Sexton, my great-great grandmother's brother.
To my friend and distant cousin Philip R. Burns (Pib) for his commentaries on the Tillotson families and sharing his research with the author.
Also, many thanks to my friend and
mentor, Victor Mathis. It has been a lot of fun
discussing technology and putting it to good use.
